Karen's Tuesday Tips

High speed learning, mindfulness and featured snippets
Karen's Tuesday Tips

Hey again all!

So here's what's grabbed my attention this week...

What I've been reading:

The 4-Hour Chef

No, I haven't changed to a foodie blog! :-)

This book from Tim Ferriss uses the medium of cooking to teach you how you can learn anything well in a fraction of the time it normally takes. Great lessons for life and business in general.

Quote I've been contemplating:

"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston S. Churchill

New tool I've been playing with:

Social Snap plugin

If you haven't got a great social sharing plugin yet, then this is the daddy!

It has all the usual sharing options (and then some), but the game changer for me is that it will let you automatically share your old posts on social networks so you are constantly promoting, without the legwork. Check it out HERE.

An article I found interesting:

9 Tips for Ranking in Google's Featured Snippets

Featured snippets are huge now, and you can really increase your traffic if you understand them and put that knowledge to use.

The best part?

You can rank ABOVE whoever is in the first position in Google if you do it right.

What I'm listening to:

Insights Timer

If you don't have a meditation practice in place, this is a free app that will give you a good introduction. I recommend looking for the "MIDL Mindfulness training" by Stephen Proctor. Short regular meditation practice will spill over into all areas of your life, so try before dismissing. ;-)

That's it for this weeks edition of Karen's Dienstag (that's German) Tips.

As always, if you see something interesting, fun or helpful that I can share with the gang, hit reply and I'll see about getting it out there. :-)

Until next week,
Karen
